Up To Or Underneath…..That Is The Question?
As an experienced Karndean floor fitter we were able to work around the kitchen units laying the floor up to the kick boards. We were also able to incorporate the step by the patio doors and tile up to and over this.
Our customer opted for Karndean black riven slate from Knight Tile range. While not real slate, this luxury vinyl flooring cleverly creates the appearance of slate with dark charcoal tones and undulating effects that give depth to the tiles. As you can see from the photographs this flooring was installed in a kitchen with modern units. These tiles work really well in this kind of contemporary setting but have the flexibility to look just as good in more traditional surroundings.
We started the installation process by removing and disposing of the existing flooring. We fitted 9mm plywood so as to meet the tile height. In order to prepare the sub-base, we covered the floor with screed. This creates a level floor that’s perfect to fit the luxury vinyl tiles on to. We then applied adhesive to the floor on which to lay the tiles. You can see each of the steps described in the photographs included as well as the stunning transformation.
