Beautiful New Karndean Flooring Installed in a Kitchen, Diner and Utility Room

Cheadle Floors recently completed installing new flooring in the kitchen, diner and utility room of a house. Our clients opted to have the same flooring running from one room into another. They decided to have Karndean flooring.

For their new Karndean flooring our clients chose Limed Oak from the Knight Tile range. As you can see from the photographs included, this flooring is produced in wood effect planks with “grey hues” running along them. It brings its own distinct character to a room.

We started the process by fitting sp101 plywood in order to ensure a smooth, level surface. As a Karndean floor fitter we understand the importance of ensuring we lay your new flooring on the perfect sub base. Fitting plywood is one way to do this. It lengthens the lifespan of your new floor as well as making it more comfortable to walk on. We worked through each of the rooms, completing sections at a time, covering the plywood with adhesive and then putting the tiles down in a herringbone pattern. We also included a quadrant border along the edges of each room to add definition.

As a Karndean floor fitter we know that this particular type of flooring gives you great versatility as it can be laid in a herringbone style or block design depending on whether you want a more traditional or contemporary look. You can even use both in adjoining rooms to create a cohesive flow between rooms using the same flooring while maintaining a unique look in each room by laying it differently.
