As a Karndean floor fitter in Stockport, we had fitted a beautiful new Karndean floor in their dining room. They were so pleased with the results that some months later they got in touch with us again, only this time they wanted a new floor for their hallway!

They chose to have Karndean Art Select Blonde Oak Parquet. The classic look of the original parquet wooden floor has been replicated by Karndean to create a luxury vinyl tile that is textured and stylish in appearance but that is practical and durable. The additional benefit of this tile is that the parquet range can be laid in different patterns that in turn can create a variety of styles to suit your space.

We started the process by removing the existing flooring to expose the wooden floorboards underneath, which you can see from the photographs. We then fitted plywood as a sub-base. Most floor coverings should have an underlay fitted first in order to give the floor strength and durability. Plywood is generally the most widely installed, readily available and dimensionally stable underlay.

We then started to fit the parquet tiles along with a tile trim around the edge of the room to define the space more clearly. You can see the stunning results from the before and after photographs that are included!
