Luxury Vinyl Tiles with Custom Border and Feature Strip
Cheadle Floors recently completed a stunning bespoke flooring installation for a client in Heaton Moor, Stockport. This project required a high level of precision and design flair, resulting in a truly unique and professional finish that transforms the space.
Our clients selected Harvey Maria Croft Oak luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) for their home. This premium LVT offers the authentic look and texture of natural oak, combined with the durability and water-resistant properties required for modern living. The Croft Oak design provides a classic yet contemporary timber aesthetic that adds warmth and character to any room.
To create a truly bespoke and distinctive floor, we incorporated two special design features. Firstly, we installed a custom border around the perimeter of the room using contrasting Harvey Maria tiles. This classic detailing frames the floor beautifully and adds a touch of elegance and sophistication. Secondly, we integrated a three-millimetre feature strip within the field of the flooring. This subtle but impactful detail creates visual interest and breaks up the expanse of the oak design, resulting in a floor that is both unique and professionally designed.
As with every project Cheadle Floors undertake, correct subfloor preparation was essential to achieving a flawless finish. Based on our years of experience as professional floor fitters, we installed the Harvey Maria LVT over 18-mil plywood. This high-quality, purpose-made underlay provides an exceptionally smooth, stable, and rigid surface, which is critical when installing luxury vinyl tiles with intricate borders and feature strips. Using 18-mil ply ensures the tiles lay perfectly flat, the seams remain tight, and the overall installation will stand the test of time.
Our experienced fitters then meticulously installed the Harvey Maria Croft Oak tiles, carefully constructing the custom border and integrating the three-millimetre feature strip with precision. Every cut and angle was expertly managed to ensure the design flowed perfectly throughout the room. The finished floor is not only beautiful to look at but also benefits from the long-lasting performance and easy maintenance that Harvey Maria LVT is known for.
