Cheadle Floors recently completed a prestigious flooring installation for a property associated with the National Trust in the historic village of Styal. This project required a flooring solution that respected the heritage setting while delivering modern durability and performance.
Our clients selected Amtico Muted Oak from the Amtico Décor National Trust collection. This exquisite luxury vinyl tile is part of a special range created in collaboration with the National Trust, taking direct inspiration from historic designs and patterns found in National Trust properties. The Muted Oak design offers authentic timber aesthetics with a subtle, restrained finish that perfectly complements period properties while providing the practical benefits of modern LVT flooring.
A percentage from UK sales of this collection helps the National Trust conserve its historic properties and care for beautiful countryside, adding an extra layer of significance to this installation.
As with every project Cheadle Floors undertake, correct subfloor preparation was essential to achieving a flawless finish. Before fitting the Amtico Muted Oak, we applied a three-millimetre coat of smoothing compound across the entire floor area. This self-levelling compound, similar to the Ardex screed we regularly use, is a brilliant product to ensure the best possible subbase for the top layer to be installed onto. While this additional preparation step might make the process of fitting a new floor a little more time-consuming, it guarantees a quality finish and adds to the longevity of your flooring, saving you money in the long term.
Based on our years of experience as professional floor fitters, we know that a perfectly smooth and level surface is critical when installing luxury vinyl tiles. The three-millimetre coat of smoothing compound eliminates any minor imperfections in the subfloor, ensuring the Amtico Muted Oak tiles lay perfectly flat with tight, seamless joints.
Our experienced fitters then meticulously installed the Amtico Muted Oak flooring throughout the designated areas.
