Out With The Old And In With The New!

Cheadle Floors recently installed luxury vinyl tiles in a house in Marple, Stockport. Our clients opted to have the same flooring throughout most of the downstairs with it running from the entrance hall through to the kitchen/diner and lounge area. This created a cohesive feel to the downstairs linking each room together it also gives the impression of more space.

We started the process by lifting up all of the existing flooring, taking up the tiles and disposing of them while leaving the skirting boards in place. You can see this in one of the photographs included. We then applied a smoothing compound in order to ensure that the sub base was level. You may wonder if this is really necessary, however as a luxury vinyl tile fitter in Marple we know that unless the floor is properly prepared, even when installing the very best flooring, you cannot ensure a professional finish. Concrete floors often have problems with dips and bumps and other irregularities so a smoothing compound will eradicate these to achieve a level finish.

Our clients chose CFS Eternity luxury vinyl flooring. The planks create a wood effect to give a classic and timeless look. With this project we installed the flooring up to and around the kitchen units.

For this installation we fitted the vinyl tiles in a way that created the shiplap effect. When laid this means that the flooring appears to have deep grooves between the tiles adding definition between each plank. You can see this illustrated in some of the photographs.
